Smiling back, Izzy playfully bit his lip after kissing back. ” I promise. We’re both still learning together.” She snuggled against him.
Alan held his lady close to him, kissing the top of her head. “Thanks babe”
She could only offer a weary smile. ” ‘s not you. I still have a few thinks to work through I suppose.” Reaching up, she lightly rested her hand on his cheek. “Nothing to be sorry for. Promise.”
Alan cracked a smile and leaned down to kiss Izzy. “Promise to tell my stupid ass to back off whenever you don’t feel comfortable, okay? I’m still learning”
She looks at him for a moment before nodding her head. Sliding into the seat placing her bags next to her. “How’d you get out of it? I mean I thought it was once you get the latter you have to go?” she questioned. This was odd seeing him but she wouldn’t change it. He looked good, the time away did him good. “Are we still friends?” she blurts out. Seeing as she hasn’t seen him since that night, he dropped her off in ever came back. To say she was a mess while he gone would be an understatement but she knew why he left but it doesn’t mean she wasn’t hurt.
Alan took a sip of his coffee before setting the mug down on the table. His hands cupped it, warming his palms and eventually towards the rest of his body. “I umm, I’m actually not sure. I didn’t give a fuck about the consequences. I was only thinking of myself and I needed an out. So I ditched this place and went somewhere sunny, where I can breathe and just think. No one came after me. No letters or warnings were sent to me. It’s like they just dropped it. I heard about the girl, the one I was paired with. She got married this past week, to some other dude. I guess that’s good, at least she have a chance of real happiness” The mestizo shrugged. “How about you? How have you been? Of course we’re still friends”
Izzy wasn’t too amused with being tickled and went to pull away again. She knew her next move would result in hitting him lightly to get her point across. “Alan” was quietly said but in a somewhat warning. She realized she’d flip flopped quickly, but being tickled did that to her.
Alan continued to tickle and chuckle evilly until he realized that Izzy was now getting uncomfortable. Immediately releasing his lady, he straightened himself out. “Sorry”, he whispered to her.
When Alan left everyone was upset that he did, but he’s parents called in a few favors in things worked out. She was shopping when she decided to get a coffee when she saw him. Fanning the sun from her eyes she walked towards him. “Alan?” she called out. She was confused at seeing him, since he’s been gone so long it was a big shock. “I thought you married that girl or you were going to marry that girl?” she wondered.
Alan looked up when a voice called his name. “Teag” he said in a calm, quiet voice. “I ummm …” he hesitated, “No, I didn’t. I just … went to breathe”, he admitted. “Have a seat. I mean, you may sit down if you’d like or not off meeting someone else” Alan was fully aware of what he was doing, in hopes to not get the answer he felt was about to word vomit out.

Unable to help her instant reflex, Izzy quickly pulled away. She knew he was just joking, but there were times where old habits kicked in and she shied away from contact such as tickling. “Alllllaaaannn.”
Alan knew Izzy well enough that she’d start pulling away. Taking a grip on her waist, he pulled her in close again and continued to tickle her. The mestizo bit down on his bottom lip with a sly smirk on his face, “Hheheeheheh”, he chuckled evilly.
After that afternoon with Teagan and with the arrival of his letter, Alan needed a break. The woman that he loved was not destined to be his forever. With that in mind, he left the city so he could breath a little and figure things out.
Finally after a month of being away and not contacting anyone from hometown, he finally returned. Sitting at the cafe under his building, the mestizo sipped on his mug, staring into space.
“Hmmm. To avoid burning the pancakes? Yes. To avoid burning the place down? Yes.” She knew he’s caught the second accidental meaning. Izzy could only smile in amusement at his attempt and reached up for a kiss. “Goof.”
Alan let a small chuckle escape before immediately turning off the stove. He turned around to face his lady and grabbed her by the waist, pulling her in close to him as he looked down at her smiling. “You’re a goof”, he poked her on the nose and then started to tickle her.
